CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - A man has pleaded guilty in federal court in New Hampshire to cocaine possession after allowing a state trooper to search his vehicle.

Court documents say 36-year-old Shariff Britton, of Jersey City, New Jersey, was stopped by the trooper on Interstate 95 in 2018 for driving violations. The trooper smelled marijuana and saw a blunt in the center console.

Britton agreed to a search. The trooper found a backpack containing 1,015 grams (1.01 kilograms) and Britton was arrested.

Authorities said Britton told them he was transporting the cocaine from New Jersey to Maine.

He’s scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 16.
