KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - Authorities have located a vehicle that was sought in a fatal hit-and-run crash in which the victim was left lying on the side of a street for more than 48 hours before he was found.

Police spokesman Sgt. Jacob Becchina said Wednesday that the occupants of the vehicle also had been identified but that no one was immediately arrested.

Police said previously that 24-year-old Deyonta Tenner was on foot Dec. 18 when a speeding vehicle left the roadway and struck him. But it wasn’t until Dec. 20 that someone called authorities to report the body near the road.

Becchina said it usually takes several weeks before crash investigations are completed and a case file is submitted to prosecutors for consideration of charges.
