COLUMBIA, Maine (AP) - Tens of thousands of Maine-made wreaths are being prepared for shipment later this month to Arlington National Cemetery.

A caravan of trucks from “Wreaths Across America” will depart on Tuesday, Dec. 15, from Down East Maine, where the organization is located and where the wreaths are made.

There will be fewer stops than usual as the caravan travels to the Washington, D.C., area. More than 200,000 wreaths will be placed on graves on Saturday, Dec. 19, at the Arlington National Cemetery.

This story has been corrected to show the convoys leaves on Tuesday, Dec. 15, and the wreaths will be placed on graves the following weekend.
