LOS ANGELES (AP) - A woman was arrested on suspicion of stabbing another woman to death early Sunday in Los Angeles, police said.

The stabbing occurred around 12:30 a.m. a few miles west of downtown LA, according to police Officer Rosario Cervantes. The victim, a woman in her early 20s, was taken to a hospital, where she died, Cervantes said.

Television news stations said the stabbing took place inside the Catch One nightclub, but police could not confirm the reports. Video from the scene showed a crowd behind police tape outside the club as a stretcher was loaded into an ambulance.

Another woman in her early 20s was taken into custody in connection with the stabbing, Cervantes said. Neither the suspect nor the victim was identified.

Paramedics also transported another person to the hospital for an unspecified medical emergency, said fire department spokesman Nicholas Prange. That person was listed in fair condition, Prange told the Los Angeles Times.
