PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Police say gunfire claimed the lives of at least three men and wounded at least a half-dozen others around the city of Philadelphia.

In south Philadelphia shortly before 10:30 p.m. Friday, a 24-year-old shot four times was pronounced dead at Jefferson University Hospital. Another 24-year-old man shot multiple times throughout the head and body was pronounced dead at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.

Just before midnight Friday, police said an 18-year-old man was shot twice in the chest on a street in a different part of south Philadelphia. He died shortly afterward at a hospital. A 19-year-old man who drove himself to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center was hospitalized in critical but stable condition.

Gunfire in other shootings sent at least six other people to hospitals, one in critical condition. No arrests were announced in any of the cases.
