EWING, N.J. (AP) - A New Jersey man has been charged with murder in the shooting death of his girlfriend after the Pennsylvania woman was found dead in his home this week, authorities said.
Aaron Adams, 38, of Ewing, initially was charged with being a felon in possession of a weapon in the death of Ashley Davis, 32, of Levittown. The murder charge was added Wednesday, according to the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office, but a motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
Davis had “visible wounds” on her body when she was found around 6:30 p.m. Monday, authorities said. Police also found drugs at the scene, along with two long BB guns and a short BB gun.
An autopsy determined Davis was killed by a metal air gun pellet that struck internal organs and caused massive internal bleeding, authorities said.
It wasn’t known Thursday if Adams has retained an attorney.
