PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (AP) - Police in Maryland say they’re investigating the death of a 71-year-old woman who was apparently killed inside her home.

The Washington Post reports that the woman lived in the Prince Frederick area of Calvert County, which is near the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay. She was found on Monday.

Police said that Rose M. Long was found in her living room by a relative.



Police said that investigators found evidence of an assault and that items in the home were in disarray. The woman’s maroon Toyota Camry is also missing.
