GAINESVILLE, Ga. (AP) - A Georgia man has been accused of being in a gang and using social media to intimidate witnesses in another man’s attempted murder trial authorities said.
Thomas D’angelo Clark, 24, was charged Wednesday with participation in a gang, news outlets reported. He was previously charged in February with intimidating witnesses in Willie Joe Moran’s attempted murder trial.
Gainesville Police Cpl. Jessica Van said Clark is accused of being a member of the Gangster Disciples. Authorities previously said Gangster Disciples is a highly organized gang that is active in more than 35 states.
Van said Clark previously posted a Facebook status, threatening harm to those who testified in the Moran investigation.
Investigators discovered the intimidation tactics two days before Moran was convicted on three counts of attempted murder and two counts of second-degree damage to property. Moran was sentenced to 130 years in prison.
Clark remains at the Hall County Jail without bond. His attorney Brett Willis declined to comment.
