SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Scottsdale police say a homeowner fatally shot a naked burglary suspect after encountering the man inside the residence.
The man killed was believed to be 18 or 19 years old and matched the description of a person run off by a different homeowner in the same general earlier Wednesday evening, police said.
According to police, the shooting occurred after the homeowner’s dog alerted the homeowner and he encountered the intruder while checking the house.
The homeowner fired a shotgun at the intruder twice when the intruder charged him while holding a large piece of wood in a threatening manner, police said.
Police said none of the residents were injured.
No identities were released.
