BARNHART, Mo. (AP) - Police are investigating as a homicide the death of a person in eastern Missouri over the long Memorial Day weekend.

The Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis is investigating after a person was found dead around 1 p.m. Monday just off Interstate 55 in Barnhart, officials said.

Officials have not released the victim’s identity or given any details about how the person died, but the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said the victim had suffered obvious signs of injury. No arrests had been reported by Tuesday morning.



Barnhart is about 25 miles south of St. Louis.
