KEARNEY, Neb. (AP) - A 17-year-old boy who escaped from a juvenile treatment center in Kearney was recaptured after a police pursuit that reached speeds up to 125 mph, the Nebraska State Patrol said.
Three other youths who escaped Sunday night from the Youth Rehabilitation and Treatment Center in Kearney remained at large Monday.
Patrol spokesman Cody Thomas said a trooper tried to stop a stolen car that was speeding on Interstate 80 early Monday but the driver wouldn’t stop.
The car reached speeds up to 125 mph before another trooper was able to successfully deploy spike strips and stop the car about 19 miles from where the chase began, Thomas said.
The 17-year-old boy was taken into custody and is facing several possible charges.
