BILLERICA, Mass. (AP) - A man has been charged with murder in connection with the death of his grandmother in Massachusetts.
James Forsythe, 26, was charged following the discovery of Ellen Scaringi, 69, who was found dead inside the home they were living in, in Billerica, Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan said Friday.
A preliminary investigation suggests that on Thursday, the two got into an altercation. Scaringi was assaulted and had suffered from apparent trauma, police said.
On Thursday night, state police responded to a crash in Bolton involving Forsythe, who had been driving Scaringi’s vehicle. He was injured and was taken to a Worcester hospital.
Police said a warrant was issued for Forsythe regarding the violation of a pre-trial condition that he stay away from the home in an open domestic abuse case involving Scaringi from May 2019.
Forsythe was arraigned on the murder charge from the hospital, Ryan said. It wasn’t immediately known if he had an attorney.
