WALDO, Maine (AP) - Maine State Police charged a Benton man with killing his sister and brother-in-law after he walked into a police station to announce the shootings, officials said Tuesday.
Glenn Brown, 66, went to the Belfast Police Department to report the shootings, which happened Monday at his sister’s home in the town of Waldo, state police said. He was arrested around 7 p.m.
Police discovered the bodies of Richard Bowden and Tina Bowden, both 64; they had been shot multiple times at their home.
Tina Bowden was pronounced dead at the scene while Richard Bowden died at Waldo County General Hospital, state police said.
Brown, who’s charged with two counts of murder, was held in jail without bail pending his first court appearance on Wednesday, officials said. It was not immediately known if he had a lawyer.
Detectives were continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shootings.
