COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Authorities have identified a man killed in a shooting outside a gun show at a former shopping mall in Ohio, but it’s still not clear what sparked the gunfire.
The shooting at the Westland Mall in Columbus was reported around 4 p.m. Sunday.
Responding police officers found Sage Martin, 21, on the sidewalk in front of the mall. He had been shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
The shooting apparently occurred in the mall parking lot, and authorities do not believe it was a random incident. It appears that at least two people were involved, but no arrests have been made.
It wasn’t clear if Martin had attended the gun show, which officials said was winding down when the shooting occurred. The mall has been vacant for years, but still hosts events periodically.
Authorities declined to release further details on the shooting, citing the ongoing investigation.
