ALABASTER, Ala. (AP) - Police in Alabama have announced additional murder charges against four people who are accused of fatally shooting a man and wounding a woman during a shooting at a party.
The charges against Kajuan Robert Nelson Cassidy, Christian Dayne Thrift, Vontarious Dameko Brown and Anfernee Jordan Brown were announced Tuesday by Alabaster police for the shooting on Sept. 20.
Court records obtained by AL.com said the suspects arrived at the party around 1:30 a.m. on that day and opened fire on the crowd. Rakeem Shields was killed and the other victim remains hospitalized with a gunshot wound to her head, according to the newspaper.
It is not clear if the suspects have a lawyer who could comment.
Police said the suspects face reckless murder and intentional murder charges. The newspaper reports they were previously charged with attempted murder for the wounding of the woman.
