NEWARK, Del. (AP) - Police say they have detained persons of interest in the overnight shooting of a 20-year-old man at a Delaware hotel.
Officers responded to a room at the Red Roof Inn in Newark just after midnight and found the man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to an area hospital in serious condition.
The News Journal reports that a vehicle leaving the scene was pursued by arriving officers. Police said people in the vehicle were detained after a short pursuit.
“Their involvement in this incident is currently under investigation,” police said in a news release.
No other information was immediately available.
