OPINION:
President Biden patted himself on the back as he announced the release of WNBA star Brittney Griner from Russian captivity (“Brittney Griner for Viktor Bout: WNBA star freed in U.S.-Russia prisoner swap,” Web, Dec. 8).
To quote “the big guy,” Ms. Griner was released “after months of being unjustly detained in Russia, held under intolerable circumstances.”
Just change the word Russia to Washington, and Mr. Biden could be describing the fate of the Jan. 6 defendants. Who would have thought, just a few years ago, that Americans would allow any U.S. government entity to treat our own like they’re in a Russian gulag, on American soil?
Terrorists in Guantanamo are treated better. Murderers, rapists and child molesters are treated better. So there is no justice in America. Saul Alinsky, Josef Stalin and Karl Marx would be proud.
As the financial noose continues to tighten around our necks, Mr. Biden is simply laughing at us, telling us every day to eat another big slice of cake. We are being beaten into compliance while they gift tens of billions of tax dollars to friends around the globe.
Find your ankles, America. You’re going to need them for what comes next.
