OPINION:
One may wish to view political candidates without labels. One wants to remain ignorant of party affiliation, to evaluate candidates based strictly on what they say and how convincing they are when they say it. Political parties are immaterial to voters, who want to be informed and make their choices known on Election Day. Today, most of us will vote for the people we think will best represent the offices they’re running for, and do the best job for the United States.
When candidates’ labels remain, the voter sees clearly that one party’s ideas and directions are good or better for the country. They see that the other party’s issues, plans and beliefs are not necessarily good for the nation, either now or in the future.
This election will highlight the differences between candidates and the voter’s interpretations of each will dictate results. May the better person always win.
