In the 2020 presidential election, stoked by the media, many Americans voted with their feelings instead of common sense. As a result, we now have a Democratic debacle. The election of 2024, if we get that far, is critical and pivotal. The wrong choice could mean true disaster.

Voters must exercise sound judgment and not be seduced by window dressing or the corrupt, gullible, bought-and-paid-for media that long ago surrendered its moral compass.

The candidates, both declared and undeclared, have to act as statesmen and -women. They must put the welfare of this nation and its posterity ahead of the desire for power and prestige. They need to look into their hearts and souls to ask and answer the following questions: Do they stand a real chance of winning? Do they and their family have the stamina required for a campaign? Do they have the presidential will and the skill necessary for the job (name-calling and verbal bullying do not count as skills). Do they have or can they get the resources needed for a successful campaign? Do they have skeletons in their closet and if so, can these be dealt with?

We need a president who will move swiftly to restore national security and rebuild our prestige and respect on the world stage. Only then can faith and hope be rekindled “that government of the people, by the people, and for the people shall not perish from the earth.”
