OPINION:
The 2020 election was marked by Joe Biden’s decisive victory.
Questions arose about the integrity of the process, especially since mail-in ballots were run through imported voting machines. Dissent over the election results, however, was quickly labeled criminal, creating a climate where questioning the outcome was discouraged and even punished.
In 2020, concerns over voting machines in Colorado and their results led Mesa County official Tina Peters to seek independent verification. Her actions challenged the narrative, prompting criminal charges.
But her prosecution and nine-year sentence suggests that those in power prioritized maintaining established accounts over openness, raising questions about the law’s true application.
Ms. Peters was seen as leading the way for others to seek the discrepancies in the 2020 election.
The irony is that President Trump’s 2020 loss and return to power in 2024 let everyone see clearly. It was a blessing in disguise that contrasts sharply with the Democrats’ machine against Mr.Trump’s pragmatism.
Sadly, the win opened up more real estate in his opponent’s heads. Discussion is not a Democratic option. Democrats are in denial and seeking one-party rule.
Ms. Peters’ nine-year sentence ensures that she will remain notorious past the 2028 election. Objections to a shortened sentence reveal the motive: It would eliminate her extended notoriety.
