OPINION:
Generations of youth in classrooms have been deceived. They deserve grace for being duped.
Here are two verifiable examples.
In 1979, in exchange for the endorsement of teacher unions, President Jimmy Carter promised to create a government Cabinet-level agency called the Department of Education. Fortunately, Carter lost the next election, but not before fulfilling his promise to the National Education Association, the largest and most influential teachers union.
Back then, the United States was number one in education worldwide. Forty-seven years later, America’s rankings have fallen considerably, while the cost per student is the highest in the world. Indoctrination surpassed education during this time, while trillions of dollars were spent.
In 2012, President Barack Obama and Congress codified censorship into law and dressed it up as “content moderation.” Both Democrats and Republicans voted to revise the Smith-Mundt Act of 1948, calling it the Smith-Mundt Modernization Act of 2012.
This revision of the 1948 law allowed media to deceive the public in reporting news, allowing outlets to use deception and omission to manipulate the truth.
Is it any surprise when indoctrinated adults use angry words — even invoking death wishes — toward President Trump because he dares to terminate the Department of Education and refers to legacy media as “fake news”?
