ACC tournament seeding scenarios

← return to D1SCOURSE

Maryland can still finish as high as No. 6 in the ACC and play in the last game of the conference tournament’s opening day.

It is also possible for the Terrapins to finish eighth or ninth and play in the tournament’s opening game for the first time since 2005.

But if Maryland defeats Virginia on Saturday, it most likely will play at 7 p.m. as the No. 7 seed (most likely – though not definitely – against N.C. State).

I’ve stared at this for longer than I care to admit, so please e-mail me and let me know if there’s anything wrong. I’m pretty sure it’s all right.

This much is certain: With seven league games remaining, only No. 11 (Georgia Tech) and No. 12 (Wake Forest) are completely locked in.
