Palin supports offshore drilling

WASHINGTON (AP) — Sarah Palin on Sunday said she remains a “big supporter of offshore drilling” despite the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.

But Mrs. Palin also told “Fox News Sunday” that oil companies need to be held accountable.

Mrs. Palin, a former Alaska governor and the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee, suggested that drilling on land in places such as the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is safer than trying to extract oil from beneath the ocean floor.
