FRENCH LICK, Ind. (AP) — Officials of a southern Indiana resort say the hotel is open again after being closed due to rainstorms.
The West Baden Springs Hotel reopened Tuesday morning after it was closed from Sunday night until Tuesday morning. The hotel moved several guests to nearby French Lick Springs Hotel.
West Baden hotel spokeswoman Dyan Duncan says the hotel took a precautionary measure to protect its guests and staff after heavy rains flooded much the area. She said the parking lot at the 1902 hotel experienced some flooding and the front lawn of the hotel was saturated with a couple inches of water.
Hotel workers said no water had entered the building, which is one of Indiana’s most famous landmarks.
Duncan said there were no injuries or property damage from the storms.
