MARYLAND (2-2, 1-0 ACC) at No. 13 GEORGIA TECH (5-0, 2-0)

Breakdown: Georgia Tech leads series 13-6, though Maryland won last meeting 28-26 in 2007. The Terrapins seek their first 2-0 start in conference play since 2001; to do so, they must win in a stadium where they are 1-8 all-time (with the lone victory coming in 2001). The Yellow Jackets own the nation's top rushing offense (378.2 yards per game), hardly a welcome prospect for a Maryland defense ranked 90th against the run. Quarterback Danny O'Brien, so effective as a freshman, ranks 10th in the ACC in passing efficiency after struggling for the opening third of the season.

SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI (4-1) at NAVY (2-2)
When: 3:30
Where: Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, Annapolis
TV/radio: CBS Sports Network, 1050 AM, 1500 AM
Breakdown: First meeting. The possibility of reclaiming the Commander-In-Chief's Trophy gone, Navy begins the process of moving on against the Golden Eagles. It won't be easy; Southern Mississippi rolled up a program-record 654 total yards last week in a rout of Rice. The Midshipmen are 24-26-1 all-time against current members of Conference USA, but 12-2 against those teams since 2003. Navy's Kriss Proctor ranks fourth nationally among quarterbacks with seven rushing touchdowns, behind only Army's Trent Steelman (nine), Central Florida's Jeff Godfrey (eight) and Nebraska's Taylor Martinez (eight).

MIAMI (2-2, 0-1 ACC) at No. 21 VIRGINIA TECH (4-1, 0-1)
When: 3:30
Where: Lane Stadium, Blacksburg, Va.
TV/radio: Chs. 7, 2, 106.7 FM, 1580 AM
Breakdown: Miami leads series 17-11, though Virginia Tech has won 11 of 16 meetings since 1995 including last year's 31-17 victory. What once looked like a king-making game in the Coastal Division now almost looks like a knockout contest in the chase for a spot in the ACC title game. Miami lost its conference opener to Maryland on Labor Day with a depleted roster, but even with several players back the Hurricanes haven't been sharp. The Hokies, meanwhile, will try to recover from their worst offensive output at home in 16 years after scoring just three points against Clemson last week.
