Griner has Baylor one win away from perfect season

DENVER (AP) - Brittney Griner insists perfection has never been Baylor's goal this season.

Now, it would just be just an added bonus as Griner and her Lady Bears are one win away from NCAA history. Baylor (39-0) can become the first NCAA team to win 40 games in a season with a victory over Notre Dame in the national championship game Tuesday night.

With a win, Baylor would become the seventh team to run through a season unbeaten, joining Connecticut _ which has done it four times, Tennessee and Texas. It would be the school's second national championship. The Lady Bears also won in 2005.

The Irish (35-3) are looking to spoil Baylor's coronation. Notre Dame is back in the title game after losing to Texas A&M in last year's final.
