Obama Cabinet loses another woman: SBA’s Karen Mills leaving

Karen Mills, head of the Small Business Administration since 2009, is leaving her position, according to a media report.

President Obama boosted the position to Cabinet level, Politico reported. Ms. Mills' departure now brings the total of high-ranking women who have of late left the administration to four: Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, Labor Secretary Hilda L. Solis and Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lisa Jackson have all resigned, Politico reported.

Ms. Mills will keep her position until the administration finds a replacement, she said, according to the Politico report.

In a statement printed by Politico, Mr. Obama recognized her "outstanding work on behalf of America's small business owners and entrepreneurs" and "leading role ... to support start-ups and entrepreneurs."
