Egypt intercepts two tons of explosives headed to Sinai

Security officials in Egypt report the seizure of two tons of explosives that were being shipped to the Sinai Peninsula, via the main Suez Canal tunnel.

The truck driver is being held for questioning, The Associated Press reports.

Egypt’s Interior Ministry has uncovered several smuggling attempts from Libya in the past couple years; since 2011, they’ve confiscated hundreds of weapons, AP reports. It’s believed that the weapons were headed to the Gaza.
