D.C. police video shows ‘person of interest’ in weekend stabbing

D.C. police on Wednesday released video of a man they believe is a "person of interest" in a weekend stabbing along the busy U Street Northwest corridor.

The video shows a man standing inside a restaurant, apparently near the site of Saturday's early morning stabbing, just moments before it occurred.

Police previously said that a man was stabbed in the stomach during a large fight at 14th and U streets Northwest, but only realized afterward that he had been stabbed. He was taken to a hospital and survived the attack.

The stabbing happened around 3:40 a.m. in the 2000 block of 14th Street Northwest, a busy nightlife corridor in the District.

A double stabbing was reported in the same block in December. In that incident, two men were stabbed, one in the chest and one in the arm. Both survived.
