LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities are now saying initial reports that a semi-truck driver had caused a fatal crash near McCarran International Airport were not accurate.
After investigating the Monday morning crash, Las Vegas police have determined that 39-year-old Angela Bashay, the driver of a 2011 Honda Pilot, was responsible for the five-vehicle collision.
Police reviewed security cameras in the area and found that the Honda Pilot had hit the back of a 2003 Nissan Altima that was slowing at an intersection. The woman driving the Nissan, Christine Elaine Robinson, was pronounced dead at Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center, where another person in the crash was hospitalized.
Sgt. Richard Strader says the semi-truck had been traveling behind the Honda, which could have led witnesses to believe it caused the accident.
