The Carolina Panthers will be without one of their best players, linebacker Luke Kuechly, on Monday night.
Kuechly is among the Panthers’ inactive players. He was cleared from the concussion protocol, but the Panthers are on the edge of being eliminated from the playoffs — they have a less than one percent chance of making the postseason — so they are resting Kuechly, who has a history of concussions. This will be the fourth consecutive missed game for the 2013 Defensive Player of the Year.
For the Redskins, linebackers Su’a Cravens and Will Compton are among the inactive players. Both were ruled out over the weekend, putting Martrell Spaight and likely Terence Garvin into more prominent roles. Spaight will start in the middle for Compton.
Also inactive for Washington are quarterback Nate Sudfeld, wide receiver Rashad Ross, running back Matt Jones, offensive lineman Vinston Painter and center Kory Lichtensteiger.
Also inactive for Carolina are RB Cameron Artis-Payneo, LB Jeremy Cash, T Daryl Williams, TE Chris Manhertz, DT Paul Soliai and DE Charles Johnson.
