Man found dead Sunday in Petal identified

PETAL, Miss. (AP) - Authorities have identified the man found dead in Petal.

Forrest County Deputy Coroner Lisa Klem identified the victim as 22-year-old Rodney Gann, of Hattiesburg.

Petal police Detective Sammy Ray tells The Hattiesburg American (https://hatne.ws/1S5uEoR) police are continuing a death investigation after Gann’s body was found Sunday near Magnolia Lane.

Ray says Gann’s body will be sent to the State Crime Lab in Jackson for an autopsy, which should be completed by Wednesday.
