Oklahoma County jail inmate is found dead in his cell

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - An Oklahoma County jail inmate has been found dead in his cell.

Jail officials say 53-year-old Bruno Bermea was found Tuesday afternoon by a jailer who was retrieving lunch trays from inmate cells.

Sheriff’s spokesman Mark Opgrande says the death appears to be due to natural causes, but the official cause of death will be determined by the state medical examiner’s office.

Bermea had been in the jail Sunday when he was arrested for failing to appear in court on a charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
