Police: Body found is that of homeless man

DECATUR, Ala. (AP) - Decatur Police say a body has been found in the woods behind a business on Central Parkway.

WAAY-TV reports officers found a man inside a tent Saturday who had been dead for “an extended amount of time.”

Police say they are notifying the deceased man’s family before releasing his identity. Authorities say he was a homeless person.

An investigation is ongoing, and police said an autopsy has been ordered to determine the cause of death.
