Last night at MCI Center

44-1 Record for Georgetown against teams currently in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.

With 8:11 left before halftime, Georgetown’s Ray Reed, who was three feet inside the midcourt stripe, fired what should have been an alley-oop pass to Brandon Bowman cutting off the right wing. Reed’s pass was high and behind Bowman. While soaring through the air, Bowman reached back — fully extended and with both hands — caught Reed’s bad pass and dunked it.

Georgetown freshman forward Jeff Green was named Big East rookie of the week for the second time this season after a pair of double-doubles in Georgetown’s 2-1 week at the Rainbow Classic. Green, who also was named to the Rainbow Classic all-tournament team, averaged 16 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.3 steals.

Norfolk State’s third-year coach, Dwight Freeman, did not attend because of blood clots in his right leg. Freeman is unable to travel but can coach practices and be on the bench for home games.
