Last night at MCI Center:

4:54 Remaining when the Hoyas scored their last point before intermission. The Hoyas took a 23-12 lead on a Jeff Green scoop but missed their final eight shots of the half and were lucky to take a 23-21 lead to the locker room.

19 3-point attempts hoisted by the Mountaineers in the first half. West Virginia converted only three of them, belying its status as the Big East’s most dangerous team from behind the arc.

The West Virginia program featured a full-page ad discussing the dangers of smokeless tobacco and featuring a horribly disfigured young man sans jaw. Talk about knowing your audience.
