The Washington Nationals released their 33-game spring training schedule yesterday, featuring 17 home games at Space Coast Stadium in Viera, Fla.

The Nationals open their spring season against the KIA Tigers of the Korean league on March1 at Space Coast Stadium. A March4 game against Panama’s national team also highlights the club’s home schedule.

Panama, which features star New York Yankees reliever Mariano Rivera, also will train at the Nationals’ minor league complex in Viera leading up to the World Baseball Classic (March 3-20). The Nationals will play the Baltimore Orioles twice (March5 and 23) at Space Coast Stadium and once (March17) in Fort Lauderdale.

A pair of promotional giveaways is included in this year’s spring schedule. On March11, fans 21 and older will receive a six-pack cooler before the Nationals play the Los Angeles Dodgers. On March26, children 12 and younger will receive a Kids Activity Kit when the Nationals play host to the National League champion Houston Astros.

Individual game tickets for the Nationals’ 17-game home schedule will go on sale at the Space Coast Stadium box office on Feb.4 at 10 a.m. Tickets also can be purchased at www.nationals.com or by calling (888)/632-6287.
