78.9 Shooting percentage for Georgetown in the first half against West Virginia. Playing perhaps their best half of the season on both ends of the floor, the Hoyas made 15 of 19 shots from the field in the opening frame and smothered the Mountaineers on the defensive end en route to a 37-20 halftime lead.

1988-89 Was the last season Georgetown won eight straight Big East games. The Hoyas finished 29-5, winning the conference’s regular season and tournament crowns.


After last week’s dominating performances against Louisville and Marquette, Roy Hibbert was named Big East player of the week. The Georgetown junior center scored 43 points and pulled down 22 rebounds in victories over the Cardinals and Golden Eagles. Hibbert scored 20 points on 4-for-5 shooting and added six rebounds against the Mountaineers.
