{bullet} For the second time in three days, the Rover feels compelled to giggle at the expense of his colleague from The Washington Times. So obsessed is Dan Daly about his daily workout that yesterday morning the Rover emerged from his room to see the man running laps around the parking lot. Only a man seriously exercise-desperate will spend the better part of an hour making 150-meter circuits of a motel sandwiched between the Pennsylvania Turnpike, a cemetery and a gastric terror named the Eat’n Park.

{bullet} The Rover felt a twinge of high school pride yesterday when Chattanooga’s Luke List made a momentary appearance on the U.S. Open leader board. List, who graduated from Chattanooga’s Baylor School in 2003 (13 years after the Rover) and Vanderbilt last month, looks poised to become the most successful golfing product from a prep program that has won 18 Tennessee boy’s titles since 1988 (the Rover’s sophomore season).
