How did you get started in real estate? I held my first open house when I was 12. Really! I am a second-generation Realtor who has enjoyed seeing this business change with technology. Back in the “old days” our Multiple Listing System (MLS) system consisted of 8 1/2-by-11-inch printouts that we’d cut into quarters and file in a shoe box. Boy, have times changed for the better. Today, I have access to all of the listings in my area and beyond via my cell phone. I simply adore modern technology!

How long have you been with the current company? I have been associated with McEnearney since October 2006. Prior to this, I was the broker for Realty Group 100, a boutique firm in Falls Church.

Greatest accomplishment in the past 12 months: Knowing that 50 percent of my business in 2008 was assisting clients with their first home purchase. While I work with clients in all stages of homeownership and all price ranges, there is a special satisfaction in helping clients capture their dream of owning a home.

Highest-priced home sold: $950,000

Most memorable house: A charming home in North Arlington that was owned by an architect. He is very creative in design, and instead of building a new huge home, he renovated the original structure. Beyond the bells and whistles you see in most high-end homes, he had installed heated sidewalks!

Worst experience buying or selling a house: I represented a buyer in a rural home purchase. A few days before settlement, the wife of the seller served him with divorce papers. Since this was his family estate, he was threatening not to sell. Closing was pretty sticky at this point, but we were able to get the seller to cooperate, and my buyer was able to close with no problems.

Age: 39 plus (and holding)

Family: I have been happily married for 17 years and I have one preteen son.

Pets: Buster, our 10-year-old German shepherd, and Rudy, our very playful 6-month-old yellow Lab

Community service/outside interests: I hold an annual winter clothing collection for a local nursing home - and I would be more than happy to accept clothing from your readers! I am also a volunteer for the local school’s annual bazaar.

Last book read: “Marley and Me” by John Grogan (After reading this book, I don’t feel so bad about the way my puppy behaves.)

Last movie seen: “Fighter Pilot: Operation Red Flag” (at the Udvar-Hazy Imax Theater)

What kind of car do you drive? My work car is a Honda Odyssey minivan. My fun car is a 2005 Mustang GT convertible that my husband gave me.

Describe your personal dream house: Something small and cozy on the beach of the Outer Banks, N.C.
