From combined dispatches

FREEDOM 3, ATHLETICA 3: Sonia Bompastor scored twice, including the tying goal in the 90th minute, as Washington erased a two-goal deficit against Saint Louis in Boyds on Sunday.

Athletica scored seven minutes in when Daniela knocked home a rebound off Freedom goalkeeper Kati Jo Spisak’s parried save.

Bompastor tied the score in the 29th minute, but Daniela scored late in the second half from 25 yards.

Rain made the game difficult for both teams in the second half, but Eniola Aluko took advantage in the 69th minute and slipped the ball just beyond Spisak to put Athletica up 3-1.

On the restart, Daniela suffered an injury and left the match.

Washington rallied late in the game when Lisa DeVanna scored a header off a Abby Wambach pass in front of the goal.

Bompastor’s game-tying goal kept Athletica winless on the season.

DYNAMO 2, REVOLUTION 0: Stuart Holden and Brian Ching both scored as Houston defeated short-handed New England in Foxborough, Mass., to snap a six-game regular-season winless streak in the series.

Pat Onstad had to make just one save for his third shutout of the season for Houston (2-2-2), which had been 0-3-3 in its previous six regular-season matches with New England (2-2-2).

The Revolution played without six starters because of injuries.

Holden scored his first goal of the season on a 25-yard drive in the 22nd minute that went through the legs of New England goalkeeper Matt Reis. Ching scored his third of the season on a header off a corner kick from the right side by Brad Davis in the 58th minute.

New England’s lone shot came on a header by Jeff Larentowicz off a Ken Mansally corner kick in the 63rd minute. The Revolution totaled just three corner kicks and had precious few minutes in the attacking zone.

Houston, which defeated New England for the 2006 and 2007 MLS Cup titles, was winless and scoreless in two matches against the Revolution last season.
