PITTSFORD, N.Y. (AP) - Buffalo Bills rookie wide receiver Marcus Easley is expected to undergo surgery on his injured left leg and will be out indefinitely, coach Chan Gailey said after practice Wednesday night.

The fourth-round draft pick out of Connecticut has not practiced since falling awkwardly on his knee during a training camp session on Aug. 2.

He was on the sideline Wednesday night as the team prepared for its first preseason game against the Washington Redskins on Friday.

Gailey, who would only describe it as a leg injury, did not say when Easley would have the surgery. Gailey also said it would not be known how long he would be out until after the surgery.

The Bills will be down another receiver, James Hardy, whom Gailey said will miss between a week to 10 days with an undisclosed injury. Hardy did not practice Wednesday, a day after he was spotted being treated by a trainer near the end of practice.

Entering his third year, the former second-round draft pick has looked solid during training camp in competing for the No. 2 spot alongside starter Lee Evans.

“That’s tough on him. I feel bad for him. I feel bad for us, too,” Gailey said. “We wanted to get a good look at him. He’s done some good things.”

Looking ahead to Friday’s game, Gailey ruled out three-fifths of his projected starting offensive line. Right tackle Cornell Green was ruled out after he hurt his right knee in practice on Saturday.

Left tackle Demetrius Bell and right guard Eric Wood will be held out as both are being eased back into practice after missing most of the offseason while recovering from leg injuries from last season.

Gailey also ruled out linebacker Paul Posluszny, who only began practicing this week after having groin surgery last month.
