IOWA CITY, IOWA (AP) - Iowa wide receiver Derrell Johnson-Koulianos has hired one of the state’s most high-profile criminal defense attorneys to represent him against drug charges.

Des Moines lawyer Alfredo Parrish filed paperwork Wednesday to represent Johnson-Koulianos. Charges against him include possession of cocaine, marijuana and prescription drugs.

Parrish has represented other Hawkeyes athletes, including former basketball player Pierre Pierce.

Parrish is also representing former Iowa football player Abe Satterfield, who was accused of assaulting a woman in a residence hall in October 2007 with a teammate. Parrish helped broker a deal in which Satterfield pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor.
