PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A tourist boat operator that suspended nationwide operations after a barge crashed into a boat in a Philadelphia river, killing two people, says it is resuming operations in other cities.

Ride The Ducks said it was resuming operations Saturday in Atlanta, San Francisco and Branson, Missouri, while operations in Newport, Kentucky were expected to resume shortly. Operations in Philadelphia will remain suspended until further notice.

Company president Chris Herschend said in a statement that inspections had confirmed the safety of all Ride The Ducks vessels.

The amphibious boat carrying 35 passengers and two crew was hit by the barge Wednesday in the Delaware River. Crew members said they shut off the engine after seeing white smoke that smelled like burning rubber. The bodies of two Hungarian tourists who drowned after the crash were recovered Friday.
