RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — A North Carolina congressman has apologized for grabbing a young man who approached him with a video camera and asked if he supports President Obama’s agenda.
The video of Democratic Rep. Bob Etheridge, posted online Monday, also shows the congressman swatting at the camera several times and asking to know who the two men are that approached him. He grabs one of them by the wrist, and later by the neck.
Mr. Etheridge apologized in a statement and said he regrets his reaction.
The video was posted Monday on websites owned by Andrew Breitbart, the conservative Web entrepreneur who also released video of workers for the community organizing group ACORN counseling actors posing as a pimp and prostitute.
Mr. Breitbart did not immediately respond to an e-mail seeking comment.
