It looks as though some jihadist is running a hugely successful psychological warfare operation.

An imam in New York proposes to build a mosque near Ground Zero and predictably, anti-Muslim feelings simmer and boil across the country. This infuriates Muslims around the world, and we subsequently had Indonesians demonstrating against the planned burning of Korans in Florida.

Most important, the Muslims in this country feel persecuted, politicians and the elite media encourage them to feel that way, and the master jihadist can count on a fresh crop of terrorists with U.S. passports.

Sheer genius.

This is a crisis that requires adroit presidential leadership.
