WASHINGTON | D.C. police say one of two pedestrians struck by a car last week in Adams Morgan has died.

Twenty-six-year-old Julia Bachleitner of Austria died Tuesday at a local hospital. She was injured in the Sept. 8 crash.

Police say a car driven by 23-year-old Chamica Adams of Mitchellville, Md., was traveling south on 18th Street and was going to turn left onto Florida Avenue when it went over the center island, striking the two pedestrians. She then veered across the road into a storefront restaurant.

She was charged with driving while intoxicated and aggravated assault.
