HAYMARKET, Va. (AP) - Authorities in Prince William County are investigating a single-car accident that has killed one teenager and injured four others in Haymarket.

Police say the accident happened on Logmill Road near James Madison Highway about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, killing a 15-year-old girl at the scene. Medevac helicopters transported the four other victims to a hospital. One is in critical condition, and the others suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Logmill Road was shut down between James Madison Highway and Mountain Road while police investigate.

Police officials told FOX-5 TV the victims are Battlefield high school students and that the 18-year-old driver hit a deer in the road, then lost control of the 2005 Dodge Magnum and hit a pole.

Police say the victims were not wearing seat belts and that alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
