Metropolitan Police on Wednesday made an arrest in the June killing of a 17-year-old boy.

Joshua Andrews, 19, of Southeast, was taken into custody at 7:55 a.m. Wednesday and faces a charge of first degree murder while armed for the shooting of Darond Lucas.

Police say that on June 5 at about 2:55 a.m. officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of W Street in Southeast for a report of a shooting. They found Lucas, of the 2300 block of Pitts Place in Southeast, suffering from gunshot wounds.
