LAS VEGAS (AP) - Wireless carrier Sprint Nextel Corp. will offer a version of BlackBerry smart phone maker Research In Motion Ltd.’s PlayBook tablet that runs on Sprint’s next-generation network.

The 4G PlayBook is expected to be available this summer, the companies said Thursday.

RIM has not yet set a date for the release of a Wi-Fi-only version of the device, which it announced in September and said would be available early this year.

The PlayBook is geared toward business users and will include a touch screen that is smaller than that on Apple Inc.’s iPad.
